The award is the most prestigious honor bestowed on a teacher of students with exceptional needs from the state of Illinois. The nominee must be a long-standing member of ICEC
(a minimum of 5 years), who is providing outstanding educational services to the exceptional children of Illinois. |

|
|
| |
|
|
The ICEC Meritorious Service Award honors a nominee who is not a member of ICEC, and has demonstrated outstanding service rendered to special education in Illinois. |
|

|

|
|

|
|
The nominee must be a member of the Illinois Student CEC. The nominee must have demonstrated outstanding service and leadership to this association, the Federation and/or local chapter and to the exceptional children of Illinois. |
|

|
|
| |
|
|
The following requirements must be met to be considered for selection of ICEC Legislator of the Year. The nominee must have served in the Illinois General Assembly or United States Congress for at least one term, and demonstrated advocacy, sponsorship,and support of legislation that improves the welfare and education of exceptional children. |
